Cocoon
Florence Penet · 2014
"Ultimately, that's what solitude is: wrapping oneself in the cocoon of one's soul, becoming a chrysalis and awaiting metamorphosis, for it always comes."
From August Strindberg / Alone
From the crimson furnace to the golden blossoming, I have woven the story of a soul in the making. At the heart of this intimate blaze, the whispered promise of a metamorphosis that only silence understands.
The pigments dance like tamed flames, recounting this suspended time where the self withdraws in order to better reinvent itself. Each touch is a vibration, each texture a beat of that universal heart that connects us to the invisible.
I wanted to paint this ephemeral sanctuary where our wildest light slumbers, this fiery chrysalis where dreams melt and take shape before daring to take flight.
