"Indian summer is when autumn puts on its festive attire" - Colette

I created this work around the marble dust, clearly visible on the canvas. It catches the paint and gives the piece a unique character.
Against a rather cool background, I created a halo of light, and then warmed the atmosphere with touches of a palette knife to maintain the chromatic harmony of the composition. Little by little, a sketch emerged: a village, a hamlet, or golden rocks, all bathed in the enveloping light of Indian summer.

The aged effect gives the work a timeless quality.
